Another CT... Another Bone Scan...

I spent the majority of the day at the hospital again...

This time, another CT scan, which is pretty quick. This time, though, instead of drinking 2 barium "shakes" for breakfast, I had about a quart of Sprite mixed with contrast.  I already had to use the bathroom, but my CT tech said, no, because she needed me to have a FULL BLADDER  for the scan. And then she set another 16 oz of Sprite with contrast on my table.

I swear I must have peed for 10 full minutes after I got out of the CT scan.
At least I didn't pee IN the scanner.

Of course, then, I had to wait about 3 more hours to get my bone scan... Not because the scheduling was poor, but because the radiation I got a shot of takes about 4 hours to work through my system and into my bones, and I got the shot about an hour before my CT.

Lucky for me, though, I got a good hour-long nap on the bone scan table.

Even better -- I got word that both scans looked "great", when I heard from Mom & my aunt.

MRI & CT scans

This morning, in lieu of work, I had a brain MRI, CT scan, and injections.

Some days I welcome the break from work, because I get a chance to nap during scans, and I get time after scans to pick up prescriptions in the afternoon.
Brain scans last about 45 minutes - 1 hour. The techs put a cage on my head so I won't move around which normally doesn't faze me at all. Today, though, something weird happend during my MRI.

I kinda lost my cool. I suddenly felt trapped and needed to get out. I had to force myself to calm down, because I REALLY didn't want to be put in another tube again today. I calmed myself down several times during the last part of the scan.

Once I was finally out of that tube, I felt so much better.
After a mid-afternoon nap, better even still.

Thank goodness I don't have another MRI until May.
